The above lines are very powerful mantras and it is believed that chanting these mantras on a daily basis will please god Ganesha. I wanted to share few things which I learned about Ganesh chaturthi. Mythological view It is believed that god Ganesha visits earth every year on the occasion of his birthday, that's why people welcome him in the form of idols on the day of Ganesh chaturthi and worship him. He (in the form of idol) enjoys varieties of food items offered by his devotees for ten days and fulfill their wishes. On eleventh day when his idols are immersed in water, ganesha returns to Kailash parvath (home).
